FAQ's

How do I book a session?

Booking a session with me is simple - find the "Contact Me" - click the "Say Hello" Button. If you click on the book now under the session you want this will also let you send me an email. You can also email me directly: [email protected] Certain times of the year I do have the booking site open on the website, if the book now takes you to the email form, please fill that out. I return inquiries within 24 hours. Usually the booking site will be open to the Fall / Winter / Spring Mini's.

Whats the difference between full sessions and a mini session? Full sessions last for 1 hour. In general, there's no need to hurry. If you want more photos, let's take more photos. Mini shoots last 15-20 minutes (no exceptions), depending on what mini was booked. During a full photoshoot things are usually more relaxed as I get to know your family more. Mini shoots consist mainly of posed photos although I try to squeeze in as many candids as I can. These types of shoots can work well if you're looking for a few updated kid, siblings or family photos, but in general they are less relaxed and not a full portrait of your life together as a family.

When will we receive our images?

For any type of portrait session, I ask for up to 2 weeks. I am known for a quick turnaround time, so I like to get your photos back to you ASAP. It could be quicker and during certain times of the year, it could be a little longer.

How do I view the photos after the session? A week or two after the shoot your edited images will be available for viewing in a private online gallery.

I have the cutest dog ever. Can I bring him to our session?

Absolutely! Pets are encouraged to join your sessions, after all they are family too!

I found exactly what I want on Pinterest, can you recreate that for me?

Um, well, no. sorry. We can work together on recreating the general idea, but every day brings different light, weather, attitudes, etc. Pinterest can be a great source for ideas, but every photo really comes from a unique moment. Let's try to make your own moments unique as well.

What if my child won't cooperate during the photoshoot?

Well, no matter how hard we try, sometimes this happens. But in my experience, unless a child is extremely tired or sick, they usually don't have the determination to stay mad for that long. They almost always come around, the problem is that I often lose parents along the way. Nothing is worse than a group photo with happy kids and scowling parents. So be patient. Be silly. And don't get discouraged. Also, laugh a lot. Usually if adults are laughing, kids feel the need to laugh too. And if things totally go south, let's talk. Free make up sessions can be scheduled at a later date if things really aren't working out.

I'm not sure where we should have our session done at, do you have locations in mind?

I absolutely do. I have my favorite locations that I know what time of day works best with lighting. I am happy to suggest a location and send you examples of those locations. I do travel as well and am happy to use a location that is special to you. Travel fees may be applied if more than 60 minutes away.

Booking Policy: Booking Fees/Cancellations/ Rescheduling/Tardiness

Booking Fees: A non-refundable retainer of $25 (applied toward your total package price) is required to reserve your session date. This fee secures your time on my calendar and covers initial communication, planning, and reserving your specific time slot. No exceptions.

Wedding Bookings: A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to secure your wedding date. This deposit is applied toward your total balance and ensures your date is exclusively reserved. “Non-refundable” means that in the event of cancellation, rescheduling, change of plans, or if the couple chooses not to proceed (including separation), the deposit will not be refunded. If a new date is requested, I will make every effort to accommodate based on availability; however, the original deposit will remain non-refundable regardless of changes.

Cancellations: No call/no shows will result in forfeiture of your booking fee and you will not be scheduled for future sessions. When your session is booked, that time is reserved exclusively for you and cannot be offered to another client. Missed appointments directly impact my business and income, so adherence to your scheduled time is expected.

Rescheduling: I understand that unexpected situations can arise. If you need to reschedule, a minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required whenever possible.If you are feeling unwell on the day of your session, you must reschedule. I work closely with clients of all ages and cannot risk exposure to illness. Additionally, you will have the best experience and results when you are feeling your best.For mini sessions, I will make every effort to accommodate a reschedule within the same session offering, based on availability. Booking fees and deposits cannot be transferred to a different season or a different type of session.

Weather: Sessions may be rescheduled at my discretion due to unfavorable weather conditions such as heavy rain or excessive wind that would impact the quality of your session. I monitor weather conditions closely and will contact you in advance if a reschedule is necessary to ensure the best possible outcome. I want you to look your best for your pictures.

Tardiness: Please plan accordingly to arrive on time, allowing for preparation, children, and traffic. I value each client’s scheduled time and ask that the same respect be given in return.Late arrivals will result in a shortened session. For example, arriving 20 minutes late to a 60-minute session will result in a 40-minute session.If you are more than 30 minutes late without communication, your session may be canceled and your booking fee will be forfeited. Exceptions may be considered for true emergencies; however, communication is required.
